Dr. Mike Sproul

Dr. Mike Sproul grew up in an itinerant minister’s home, was saved, and accepted Christ as a child. After graduating from International Baptist College and Seminary with a B.A. in Pastoral Studies, he married his high school sweetheart, the former Elma Phillips. They have two children, David, 28, an Air Force combat pilot, and Sara, 26, a post-partum nurse. In 1988 he finished his M.Div. at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary and in 1995, his D.Min. In 1991, Mike joined the U.S. Air Force as a chaplain and has served on active duty, in the Guard, and the Reserves for the last 26 years. He has deployed 4 times and holds the rank of Colonel. In 1996, he moved back to his home church and became Senior Pastor of Tri-City Baptist Church. Tri-City is the home of multiple ministries including a college, seminary, and a mission agency. Tri-City is a multi-generational, multi-ethnic, and multi-faceted church in the heart of one of the fastest growing areas of the Phoenix metroplex.
